about

I’m pleased to be releasing my new single Marlo Maybe. Joining me on drums is my old band mate Jim Bonfanti of the Raspberries,
(member of the Classic Drummer Hall of Fame). We sent the tracks to Tommy Allen and he returned an awesome, power pop mix. I wanted to write a song that I imagined could have been a single by The Hollies, tapping into their great harmonies and fingerprint guitar lines. Be sure to listen to the end to hear Jim’s iconic, signature drum outro! Special thanks to Jack Snyder, @jaxnider on Instagram for the cover art.

lyrics

Marlo Maybe, Marlo Maybe
She looks into the mirror
She don’t like what she sees
She tries to hide her feelings
It’s complicated can’t you see
She smiles when she sees you
She puts on a brave face
But her confidence is shaken
She feels so out of place
First she meets you, then she greets you
Will you be her friend
She acts so sweet, and her heart beats
But it’s all pretend

Marlo Maybe
Can you open up and let me see
Marlo Maybe
Do you realize just how much you mean to me

She stays up all night
She’s alone in her room
She cries into her pillow
Drowning in her own perfume
You can keep your silver
You can keep your gold
What’s precious to me
Precious is my Marlo
First she loves you, then she leaves you
Part time girlfriend
Will she tease you, or believe in you
How will it end

Marlo Maybe
Can you open up and let me see
Marlo Maybe
Do you realize just how much you mean to me

Marlo Maybe, Marlo Maybe, Marlo Maybe
Do you realize just how much you mean to me
